ROTHSCHILD JAMES MAYER DE: (1792-1868) German-French banker and the founder of the French branch of the Rothschild banking family. L.S., Ban. James de Rothschild, two pages, 8vo, Paris, 6th March n.y. (annotated 1862 in another hand), to Mr. Talabot, in French. Rothschild writes concerning Edmond Piot, who has already completed large projects for companies in Lyon and in the east, and who has been particularly recommended to him, explaining that Piot wishes to be granted the contracts for two works of St. Romain de Passey at St. Germain de Mont d'Or, and further adding that he would be very much obliged if Talabot would grant Piot priority for the works.
