HANRIOT FRANÇOIS: (1759-1794) General during the French Revolution. A leading figure in the insurrection and in the September massacres. Hanriot was taken to the guillotine in the same cart as Robespierre and was executed shortly after at the early age of 34. L.S., Hanriot, one page, 4to, Paris, 4th June 1794, to General Pille, in French. The partially printed document bearing the heading of the Paris army headquarters is a report advocating in favour of a Gendarme whose horse has died of glanders and is facing a trial for the loss of the horse. Small overall age wear and toning, with few pinholes, otherwise G Only a month after the present letter was signed, Hanriot was arrested and executed the day after.
