Judaica medal Commemorating German Revolution/Jewish emancipation 1848 Drentwett
Germany: Commemoration of German Revolution, 1848; by Gottfried Drentwett; struck in tin; size: 37.5mm; weight: 16.65g. Obverse: legend "Errungenschaft Des Bayrisch: Volkes" ( 'umlaut' on "Y" rather than "A"), ['Achievements of the Bavarian Peoples']; 8 wreaths each highlighting key accomplishment of the revolution, one of which is "emancipation of the Jews". Reverse: right facing King Ludwig I of Bavaria. Plain rim, medal alignment. These medals are usually found with a reverse image of two figures shaking hands over the "constitution". Ref: "Mittheilungen... Bayerischen Numismatischen..." 1885 ed., #76 (p.45). In VF.
