PAUL GUTH (1910-1997), AUTOGRAPH "The Dead Sea Scrolls"
Autograph manuscript. 2 pp. in4. Scratches and corrections.
Very good condition.
In French.
Paul Guth reflects on the discovery in 1947 by a Bedouin of the famous Dead Sea Scrolls and the extraordinary revelations they provide. He then compares Professor Dupont-Sommer's thesis with that of Catholic circles, in particular Father Danielou. But, whichever
way you look at it, the Dead Sea Scrolls provide "dazzling insights into the Jewish milieu before Christianity".
Paul Guth is a French novelist, essayist, columnist, memoirist, historian and pamphleteer. He is the author of some fifty works, some of which are tinged with history, contemporary anecdotes or criticism of what he saw as the evils of his century.
