A LUCKNOW INDIA SABER WITH A GILT HILT, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With Damascus steel slightly curved blade inlaid with silver in koftgari, forming floral foliage, gilded copper hilt in the shape of a Makara swallowing a fish. The scabbard is covered with red velvet with openwork gilt bronze mounts. Lucknow, India, early 19th century.
Dimensions: L: 35 1/2 in., (85 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, some silver inlay is partially lost on the forte, original scabbard velvet is worn.
