AN AMERICAN EA ARMSTRONG DETROIT CEREMONIAL SWORD
An antique American 1899-1902 "Patriarchs Militant" IOOF Independent order of Odd Fellows Fraternal ceremonial sword with scabbard. The long straight blade is decorated with etched gold-tone motifs, named "Llewellyn Russel" and inscribed "Patriarchs Militant" on the reverse side. Features a wire wrapped leather handle and a gold-tone crowned globe pommel. Maker's mark on the ricasso: "E.A. Armstrong, Detroit." The scabbard has highly detailed gold-tone mounts and three attachment rings.
Dimensions: L: 38 3/8 in., (97.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good, scabbard chrome is partially lost.
