A NAZI GERMAN WW2 LUFTWAFFE GROUND ASSAULT BADGE
A Nazi German WW2 Luftwaffe Ground Assault badge of the 3rd grade for 50 eligible operations. Made of fine zinc. Features an oak leaf wreath with at its apex a Luftwaffe eagle, grasping a swastika, flying above a storm cloud, from which a centered positioned lightning bolt strikes through the ground. With the number of operations to the base. The reverse holds a vertical slender banjo-style pin back with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch. The manufacturer Rudolf Karneth and Sohne, Gablonz marked on the back with R. K. initials. Designed by the graphic and textile artist Sigmund von Weech.
