REDUCED: Tea Caddy & Original Still Life Oil Painting on Canvas Covered Board of Roses in the Silver Plated Tea Caddy for sale with the Subject. Framed and Signed by By Sandy de Villiers (1947-2023).

Featuring a beautiful arrangement of roses in a silver plated tea caddy as its subject. The artist, Sandy de Villiers, has meticulously captured the delicate beauty of the roses and the elegant shine of the silver-plated tea caddy in this artwork. The painting is done in oil medium, providing rich and vibrant colors that add depth and realism to the composition.

The piece is framed to enhance its presentation and protect the artwork. The frame complements the painting's style, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall piece. Additionally, Sandy de Villiers has personally signed the painting, adding a unique and authentic touch to its provenance and we have with it the original antique tea caddy by Philip Ashberry & Sons of Sheffield.  It has Lion Head handles on the sides with an Ivory handle on the top.  Engraved on the lid "M. P. Soper 24th June 1881"

Sandra L. du Toit was born in The Strand near Cape Town. The eldest of four children, but the only girl until she was 13, she balanced rough and tumble games with her brothers and a love of drawing and painting. She learned to love beautiful things and places very young. Spending a few years living at Rhebokskloof as a child, opened her eyes to the history and gravitas of a harsh, but beautiful world outside of her family home. This would translate later into an artist who embodied these contradictions and would, eventually, blend them to harmony, as she did with the oils on her canvases.

Overall, this Still Life Oil Painting with the subject of the work will make a lovely addition to any art collection or home décor, offering a timeless and classic representation of the beauty found in simple, everyday objects.
