This is the first edition of 'Sefer Chassidim', authored by Rabbi Yehuda Hachassid, leader of the Chassidim of Ashkenaz, and rabbi of the 'Baal HaRokeach'.
Replete with halachos, minhagim, advice for sincere repentance, and chassidic thought, 'Sefer Chassidim' has been cherished and practiced by Jewish communities across the Diaspora through the centuries.
A remarkable and unique sefer which had a profound influence on the practices and way of life of the Jewish people thrughout the generations in halacha, minhagim, ethics, and piety.
Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid (d. circa 1215) was one of the greatest early Rishonim of Ashkenaz, a pious and righteous sage. His noteworthy disciples include the authors of the Rokeach, Smag and Ohr Zaruah.
The colophon at the end of the sefer states: “So said the youth…Avraham Hakohein ben Rabbi Moshe Hakohein zt”l, here in Bologna, 1538."
