Teshuvos HaRambam. Venice, 1544
Igros Le HaMaor Hagadol – Letters to the Great Torah Luminary, Shailos, teshuvos and letters from Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, the Rambam. The Rambam was one of the greatest meishivim in his era, responding to thousands of intricate questions sent to him from scholars in Eretz Yisrael, France, Spain, Yemen and Babylonia.
The Rambam’s letters and teshuvos are a treasure trove of halachah and encompass the foundations of Jewish faith.
The present sefer includes teshuvos to various halachic questions, as well as responses to questions challenging his rulings in Mishnah Torah or investigating the sources of his rulings. It also includes a letter of instruction to his son Rabbi Avraham, letters regarding the foundations of Jewish faith, and a collection of essays regarding the great controversy regarding the Rambam’s sefarim.
Among the most famous teshuvos printed in this sefer are the Rambam’s responses to the sages of Lonil and his teshuvah to Dayan Rabbi Pinchas of Alexandria, which contain important foundations to the understanding of his halachic masterpiece
Mishnah Torah.

Condition: Good. Several leaves with stained margins. Elaborate new leather binding.
