Complete Year-Round Siddur with Kavanos Ha’Ari. Amsterdam, 1681

First Siddur Printed with Kavanos Ha’Ari!

This volume boasts a Siddur with Kavanos Ha’Ari, Tehillim, Maamados, Yotzros, Haggadah and Sefer Haminhagim! Rare find with beautiful binding!

Siddur - order of prayers for the entire year in Polish rite with the kabbalistic intentions of the Arizal. It includes Seder Tikkunei Shabbos and special prayers from sefer Shaar Tzion, as well as a comprehensive commentary on the prayers, Selichos, Kinos, Haggadah, Yotzros and maseches Avos, Tehillim with the Shimush Tehillim and Radak commentaries; Sefer Haminhagim by Rabbi Eizik of Tirnau; and calendars for the years 1682-1695.

This siddur is extremely important, exceedingly rare and in very good condition.

This extra-large siddur was the first one to encompass so many tefillos and commentaries in a single volume. The printer himself proudly expressed, “Anyone who sees this beautiful treasure of prayers shall say, ‘This is something new that has never existed since the founding of the art of printing.”

The commentary in this siddur is compiled from various commentaries in other siddurim, including the טיהינגן siddur (printed 1560) and the Lublin siddur (printed 1571), along with additions and changes in the prayer text based on the siddur of Rabbi Shabsai Sofer of Premishla and the personal siddur of Rabbi Dovid Lida, Av Beis Din of Amsterdam.

In his approbation to this siddur (Dyhernfurth, 1714 edition), the Semichas Chachamim attributes the preparation and editing of this siddur to Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Frankel, son of the author of Kikayon Diyuna. A poem appears on the title page verso, spelling the name of its author Shmuel ben Yosef in acrostic. This is presumably Rabbi Shmuel ben Rabbi Yosef Orgeler of Cracow who printed his famous sefarim Olas Tamid and Olas Shabbos that very same year in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam, 1681-1682. 178: 208: 64: [209-]290: [1], 24, 21-32 leaves.

Page size: 19.5 cm with separate title pages for Siddur, Tehillim, Yotzros, Maamados and Sefer Haminhagim.

Title page lacking the bottom part , pages 221/2 in Seder Mamadot damaged on the lower bottom. Borders and assorted pages restored professionally. Text on the last page is slightly damaged, other wise very good condition .

Ornate new wooden binding, high-quality leather with many gilded engravings and metal clasps.
