Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov.

Kabbalistic Commentary on Midrash Rabba

Large folio from Midrash Rabba with extra-wide margins filled with the sacred kabbalistic annotations on the Midrash and Zohar by the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Eisik of Ziditchov.

On this folio, he cites lessons from the Zohar and Tikkunim teachings of the Arizal and teachings from his Uncle and master, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Ziditchov.

It is well-known that the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Eisik of Ziditchov inscribed his kabbalistic commentary in a state of absolute purity and sanctity, while bedecked in tallis and tefillin, and that he ascribed great spiritual forces to his handwritten manuscripts.

Testimony by the Imrei Yosef of Spinka regarding the segulah and spiritual powers of the Mahari of Ziditchov’s handwritten manuscripts:

“Once, the Admor zy”a laid my kvittel inside his sacred handwritten manuscript and uttered in his holy words: “From here, every person can draw salvation for children, life and prosperity” (Imrei Yosef’s preface to Chiddushei Mahar”i).
A segulah for banei, chayei u’mezonei! Children, life & prosperity!

Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov (1805-1873), renowned as Mahar”i Ziditchov, was an exalted tzaddik and miracle worker who attracted thousands to his holy court.

He was fluent in all of Shas, Midrash and Mechilta, Safra and Sifri, along with the Zohar, Tikkunei HaZohar and all Kisvei Arizal, and the teachings of his own master, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Ziditchov. He served Hashem and learned Torah with immense self-sacrifice, praying constantly for all of Klal Yisrael and drawing upon them a bounty of success and prosperity. His written legacy includes Biur Mahari on Midrash Rabba, as well as Likutei Torah VehaShas.

[1] leaf. Page size: 39x24 cm. Folio from Midrash Rabba (Frankfurt am Main, 1705).

Good condition. Preserved in ornate leather binding.
