2nd Zionist Congress - 1898 Rare Bronze Pendant / Medal
Obverse: 5 portraits with Yiddish names in Hebrew, "Dr. Herzl" (Congress president; center), "Bernard Lazare" (distinguished participant; top- right), "Prof. Dr. [Max] Mandelstamm" (vice-president; lower-right), "Dr. [Max] Nordoi" (vice- president; lower-left), "[Chief-Rabbi] Dr. [Moses] Gaster" (here "Naster"; VP; top-left). Reverse: original emblem of Zionist movement in center with quotation from Yechezkel, "Behold I will take the sons of Israel from among the gentiles and I delivered them to their land"; edge legend: "Prasidium dem zweiten kangresem der Zianisten in Basel. 10-12 Elul 5658. 28-30 August 1898."
When the item was bought it was graded "In AU-UNC; one of the finest examples seen" (page attached)
