בידספיריט | Danish Topographic Exlibris. by Poul
Danish Topographic Exlibris. by Poul A. Andersen 1970 Limited edition of 500 numbered copies. Copy no. 363. - In the series of the many books that have been written over time about exlibris, this one is now dedicated to a selection of Danish topographical exlibris, made by known and unknown artists, indeed, in many cases by people who must be considered amateurs. The choice of motif in these exlibris has often been determined by a sense of home or other purely personal experiences which are linked to the choice of their particular motif, and here a great sense of ownership can fill the void that the lack of artistic skills has not been able to fulfill. All regions in the country are included, just as Greenland and the Faroe Islands are represented. There are also some individual bookplates from previous Danish possessions, e.g. a. Scania and South Schleswig, all together with a rich selection of motifs with burial mounds, ancient monuments, churches, castles, manors, schools, town arms and much more, which can tell and refresh things that can give us hunted people a hint about, that here is something from the past that we must preserve for posterity. Regarding ex-libris in general, most libraries have a large selection of books on the subject, which, when read through, may perhaps create an interest in the art of ex-libris, which is a contribution to enhancing the art of books. In the hope that this book will be well received,
