Kupat Am Bank was a cooperative bank during the period of the settlement , and later in the State of Israel .
The Bank was founded in 1918 as the "Cooperative Bank Kupat Am Israel" and later became "Bank of Israel Fund Ltd.". The bank building that was built on Ahad Ha'am Street in Tel Aviv is considered a historical building in the international style designed by Yitzhak Rapoport . The branch in Jerusalem moved to Sensor Building in 1934.
The Bank ceased operating as an independent bank in 1982 , after being acquired by Bank Leumi .
