Brian North Lee, - Early Printed Book Labels. Pinner, Private Libraries Society and Bookplate Society, 1976. - a Catalogue of Dated Personal Labels and Gift Labels Printed in Britain to the Year 1760.  ”This study of early dated book labels arises out of an awareness that they have been curiously neglected by those chronicling the history of ex libris in this country. It became clear that without a serious study of book labels a major chapter in the history of ex libris would remain unwritten. It is intended to open that chapter with this book, the major part of which is a catalogue of dated typographic labels to the year 1760.”
