The instructions in the booklet state that: "The prize (Reich Sports Badge) may only be received by someone who has pure German blood".

Reich Sports Badge (Reichssportabzeichen): intended to promote physical fitness among the German population and was awarded based on meeting certain performance standards in various athletic events. The initiative was part of the broader efforts of the Nazi regime to indoctrinate Nazi ideology among youth through organizations such as the Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend) and the League of German Girls (Bund Deutscher Mädel, BDM). The Leistungsbuch - "Best Performances" was used to document the athletic achievements of young people who were candidates for the Reich Sports Badge. The grade booklet details the specific events they participated in and the scores or times they achieved in the various events. The sports included in the badge skills include athletic skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, swimming, and sometimes military style exercises. The badge was divided into different levels according to the level of achievement - bronze, silver and gold, each requiring higher standards of performance. The Nazi regime sought to cultivate a strong and healthy Aryan race based on the belief that its basic traits were the most superior of all existing races, and physical education was seen as vital both for military readiness and for the overall vitality of the nation. The Reich Sports Badge was part of a broader system of youth indoctrination. By participating in state-sponsored athletic programs, young people were not only physically trained but also indoctrinated with the values and ideals of the regime.
