Partisan songs at the height of World War II. Yugoslavia [early 1940s]

Najnovija narodna pesmarica - "The Last Book of Folk Songs". A booklet of partisan songs to boost morale in the war against Nazi Germany, in the midst of World War II. Edited by Domaći in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, [early 1940s] - Only edition. Serbian.

The booklet contains 31 heroic songs that Yugoslav partisans used to sing in the forests and hiding places during World War II. In the booklet are songs against Nazi Germany and in praise of the war against fascism and the expectation of victory. The song "Our Republic" appears unprecedentedly in the booklet as the national anthem. Later on is a song about the bravery and fall of the partisan commander Sava, songs praising Tito, the commander of the largest partisan army in Europe, the Red Star, heroic songs, and more.

For example, one of the songs appears under the title: "Sleep Peacefully, My Child": "Sleep peacefully, my child: Sleep quietly, my child, the five-pointed star shines. You will not hunger for bread, like me. Your mother is not afraid now, the abhorred Prussian has been expelled; our father, a brave Russian, has come to our aid. Your father is dead, his grave is in the forest; he protected you, my son, so that you would not become a Swabian slave. Sleep quietly, my child, until the white day comes. The five-pointed star shines, the partisan stands guard".

In another song under the title "Republic", calling for the elimination of the Nazi fascists, the song "Forward Partisans, Raise the Flag" appears, a song in the forests and mountains: "Through the forests and mountains of our proud country, partisan groups go, the glory of the struggle spreads... We prefer to die than to give up our land. We will lead the struggle forever, until fascism collapses...". Several songs appear in praise of Tito, the commander of the largest partisan army in Europe, the great fighter against the Nazi occupation: "We are Tito's young army": "Partisan battalions march through forests, villages, fields and cities against the bloodsuckers and Swabian bastards... We are Tito's young army. All our people go with us. Our country is now free. Just Tito be healthy for us, be healthy! The partisan force grows day by day. Hitler and his disciples are attacking. There will be no trace of fascism...", and many more.

Extremely rare. Does not appear in the World Cat global library catalog.
