Non-traditional Haggadah. Ramat Yochanan, 1951

A non-traditional Haggadah with large and impressive illustrations throughout, and a reference to leaving slavery for redemption in the Land of Israel. Ramat Elhanan 1951.

All the pages of the Haggadah have large and impressive illustrations in black and white across entire pages, the text is integrated as part of the drawing. The Haggadah opens with original spring songs. On page 9, there is an original version of the "Prayer of Peace" - "our hands raised to the sky, in our mouths the prayer of peace... Zion on a wall will be built for praise from all the ends of the earth the people will flock...". On page 22, there is a new text that refers to the independence of Israel and the establishment of the state: "The vision of prophets and our longings generations have become a living reality. On the eve of Shabbat Iyar 5 1948 it was announced in this words: We are the members of the People's Council, the representatives of the Jewish settlement... We hereby announce the establishment of the Jewish state in the Land of Israel, the State of Israel...". An interesting text appears that connects the Ten Commandments to work life in the Land of Israel, alongside texts from the traditional Haggadah, and more.

36 pages. 24 cm. The back cover may be missing. A tear with a flaw in the corner of the front cover. A subsequent fold in the corners of the Haggadah pages. Stains on the cover. Other than that, good condition.
