The caricatures of "Little Adon Cohen" were the subject of many anti-Semitic postcards and illustrations in the early 20th century. His character first appeared in a poem composed by the composer Julius Einödshofer and soon appeared in various series of postcards depicting Mr. Cohen the dwarf Jew in ridiculous situations with anti-Semitic captions. Following the publication of the figure in various publications, German Jews were generally referred to as "Little Cohen."
