TABLEAUX DE GENRE DE L'ORIENT RECUEILLIS DANS LE VOYAGE DE SON ALTESSE ROYALE MONSEIGNEUR LE DUC MAXIMILIEN DE BAVIERE -  The Journey of His Royal Highness Monseigneur the Duke Maximilian of Bavaria to Eretz Israel, Egypt, Nuweiba, Syria and Malta, Stuttgart 1847 - Accompanied by 48 impressive colored engraving plates, of scenes and views of the East illustrated by Henri de Mayer. Among the lithographs: A prison in Syria, irrigation of lands by the Nile River, a criminal on his way to execution, hyena hunting on the banks of the Nile, horseback riding at night in the streets of Cairo, Bedouins stealing horses from pasture, and more.
