Buchenwald Atrocities - Photo Album, Charts, and Maps - The Rare German Edition

BUCHENWALD AUS VERGANGENHEIT UND GEGENWART DES ETTERSBERGS BEI WEIMAR Buchenwald from the past and present of Ettersberg (the settlement adjacent to the Buchenwald camp) near Weimar - Album of documents, drawings, and maps - uncensored, documenting in detail the horrors of the Buchenwald death camp - published by the Board of Trustees for the Construction of National Monuments in Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen, and Ravensbrück. The first and Rare German edition - Erfurt 1949, in which it was announced on the title page about Democratic Germany opening a new page quoting the words of Otto Grotewohl, the first Prime Minister of the German Republic that was established after the war: "In this hour of the rebirth of the German state, the government of the German Democratic Republic commemorates millions of victims of all the peoples who had to give up their lives under the whip of Hitler's fascism. They died so that their people would live! Their heroic example should continue to live in our youth and our people regardless of any political or ideological view".

An important and uncensored booklet documenting the atrocities committed by the Nazis in the Buchenwald concentration camp. It provides a detailed overview of the camp's operations and the horrors that took place during the war years, alongside photographs, illustrations, and detailed maps. Among other things, it features a map of the distribution of death camps in Germany, the road leading to Buchenwald built by the prisoners themselves, a model of the camp with a precise description of all its sections, guard towers, prisoner cells, electric fences, the courtyard of death where tens of thousands of Jews were hanged, the ammunition huts, a shocking photograph of prisoners during the morning order in Buchenwald, charts of the torture methods used by the Nazis, and of the forced labor they imposed on the prisoners, the Zyklon B gas canisters that were used for mass murder, objects made from the skins of prisoners who were executed and kept by the camp commandant's wife Ilse Koch, shocking photographs of the bodies of the dead and the crematorium, and more.

Additionally, it describes in detail the various torture methods that the prisoners endured and the attempt to cover up the facts. After the murder of prisoners, the SS wrote false reports to hide the truth: "died during an attempted escape" "committed suicide, "died of natural causes, " etc. The booklet also features a rare photograph of the child Stefan Zweig from Krakow, who was hidden by the prisoners among old clothes in the warehouse, thereby saving his life, as well as photos of Buchenwald prisoners on liberation day, and more.
