Liberation of Paris - 11 large photographs. August 1944
11 large photographs documenting the liberation of Paris from the Nazi occupation - August 1944, stamped on the back with the stamp of the photo agency that operated on the day of liberation: L.A.P.I.
Photographs: civilians lying on the floor taking shelter from last-minute shelling, the entry of the 2nd Armored Division of the Free French Army into the city, French soldiers and civilians on a temporary protective wall on which were hung the pictures of Hitler, Goering, and Himmler (that when the Nazi enemy shot it would aim at the pictures of his heroes), German officers raise their hands in surrender and are led to prison, victory parades and waving the flag, and more.
The liberation of Paris in Operation Oberlord marked the end of World War II.
The photographs are all the same size: 24x18 cm. except for one: 18x13 cm. Very good condition.
