Lot of 5 Judaica postcards: ”The Jewish Boy” by Wilhelm Wachtel (sent from Vienna 1922 with a Yiddish message), ”Talmud Student” by Lazar Krestin, Jews from Jerusalem, ”Victims of the Pogrom” by Samuel Hirszenberg and ”The Rabbi's Visit” by Kaufman (sent in New York 1915) - Lot of 5 Judaica postcards: 1. Wilhelm Wachtel, ”The Jewish Boy / Jüdischer Knabe / Chłopiec żydowski”, portrait of a boy in a cap and coat, signed W. Wachtel. Sent from Vienna, dated 2.3.1922, with two Austrian stamps (wheat ear series) and Vienna cancel, to Paula Nilowska, Allenstein, East Prussia (today Olsztyn, Poland). Handwritten message in Yiddish. Paper loss in the upper corner of the back, stamp damaged, pencil notes. 2. Lazar Krestin, ”Talmudjünger” (Talmud student): a boy in a black hat with a book, candlesticks and a curtain with a Star of David, artist's monogram LK. Published by B.K.W.I. 863/6, Vienna, pencil note on the back ”Talmudjünger, Lazar Krestin pinx”. Unused. 3. ”Juden aus Jerusalem / Juifs de Jérusalem / Jews from Jerusalem”, no. 90: three old Jews in traditional dress by an ancient stone wall, colour photograph. ”Union Postale Universelle” back, 24821. Unused. 4. Samuel Hirszenberg, ”Ofiary Pogromu” (Victims of the Pogrom), no. 6425: a procession of exiled Jews in a snowy landscape, black and white reproduction. Handwritten dedication in Russian on the back dated 30.12.1910. 5. Kaufman, ”Посещение раввина” (The Rabbi's Visit), no. 1290: two old Jews at a table with a boy standing before them, sepia reproduction. Sent in New York in March 1915 with a US 1c Washington stamp and machine cancel to Tucson, Arizona, long message in English. Overall good condition, signs of use and corner wear.
