Leilão Bidspirit | Two items. A large circular

Two items. A large circular closure label of the Egyptian post in Eretz Israel, printed in blue on white paper. The label is inscribed POSTE VICEREALI EGIZIANE around the top with the name of the city JAFFA at the foot, and an Arabic inscription within a guilloche ornament at the centre. Labels of this kind served to seal mail at the Egyptian post offices that operated in the cities of Eretz Israel in the nineteenth century. The second item is a stamp of the Lebanese Republic of 1.50 piastres showing the palace of Beiteddine, carrying a postal cancellation and a perfin reading APC, the initials of the Anglo Palestine Company, the Anglo-Palestine Bank, which marked its office stamps in this way. The combination of an APC perfin on a Lebanese stamp is not commonly encountered. Good condition.
