Two portrait postcards of Joseph Trumpeldor. One is printed in a reddish tone with wide margins, showing him in a peaked cap and inscribed with his name and the words It is good to die for our country, published by Moshe Zlotz. The other is a sepia photographic card showing him as a young officer in uniform with a decoration on his chest, captioned The national hero Joseph Trumpeldor beside the English caption Capt. Joseph Trumpeldor. Trumpeldor fell in the defence of Tel Hai on 1 March 1920, and the sentence on the first card is attributed to him as his last words. Both are unused, with age staining and a small corner tear. Good condition.
