Alexander Borisovich Petrov (Shura Petrov)

After graduating from high school, in 1976 he entered the Leningrad Art School. V. Serov to the theater department. He graduated from college in 1980 and the same year he entered the Institute of Music and Cinema Theater (LGITMiK). He graduated from the institute in 1985 with a diploma in production design. From 1985 to 1989 worked at the Vologda Drama Theater as a production designer, where he designed 12 performances. During his theatrical career, he performed 25 performances around the country: in Moscow, Astrakhan, Barnaul and other cities. In 1989 he returned to St. Petersburg, where he worked as a restorer of icon painting, not forgetting to engage in theater and easel painting, in which he has worked from 1976 to the present day.

Since 1981, he participated in the autumn and spring exhibitions of the St. Petersburg Manege, and worked with the Pushkinskaya 10 gallery. Then he entered into an agreement with the Davidson Galleries in Seattle (USA) and from 1991 to 2001 lived in America, working with galleries on the east and west coasts of the USA. In 2000, he was invited to Russia to submit the “TEFI” nomination. Since 2002 he has lived in Moscow, works on television and paints.

Collaborates with US galleries: Davidson Galleries, Seattle; Grant Gallery New York; "MiMi Ferzt" New York; Turner Carol Gallery Santa Fe; "Olg Dollar" San Francisco.

In Russia: Kino gallery Moscow, Red Bridge Vologda, Sam Brook Moscow. He took part in numerous Art Fairs, both in Russia and abroad.
