South German turned ivory tower - first half of the 17th Century
turned elephant ivory tower (Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797 or Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758), with a stepped circular base on four bun feet, thin shaft interspersed by two sides concave elements and surmounted by delicate leaf-form elements. Height 19.3 cm, width 6.7 cm, base diameter 6 cm. Weight 41 gr. Item condition grading: **** good (minor losses at the top crown, some surface wear commensurate with age & use). Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity (pre-1947).
