Carved ivory carving depicting Virgin and Child - probably Germany, last quarter 19th Century carved elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) resting on a partially ebonized ivory base with four ”bun” feet. Height with base 37 cm, base 10.9 x 8 cm. Weight 1494 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity (pre-1947).
