Bidspirit auction | A rare silver Torah pointer

A rare silver Torah pointer (*yad*) – Ottoman Empire, late 19th century. The central section of the pointer consists of a long, twisted-stem handle, which provides both a unique aesthetic and a comfortable grip. It terminates in a delicate, cast hand with an extended index finger (the ”finger”). The lower portion of the pointer widens into a flattened, plate-like structure. Stamped in its center is a clear, circular Ottoman hallmark. The hallmark features an internal design reminiscent of a *Tughra* (a Sultan’s calligraphic emblem) or an official *Sah* (verification) stamp, which attests to the quality of the silver and the origin of the object. Condition: Good. Length: 14 cm.
