A magnificent Jewish writing desk - Damascus, Syria, late 19th century, inlaid with wooden marquetry in dark and light tones and mother-of-pearl in geometric patterns in the Damascus technique in the mashrabiya pattern, with Stars of David decorations.
The writing desk consists of two parts: a writing box with dedicated storage compartments for writing instruments, etc. The second part, the writing box, has a sloping lid that opens to a padded writing surface, the inner part of the writing surface lifts up, and underneath it is a large storage compartment. Good condition, dimensions: 31*37 cm
