Abel Penn (1883-1963), born in Russia, first studied with the artist Yehuda Penn (teacher of Marc Chagall), continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Odessa and worked in Paris. In 1913 he arrived in Israel to teach at "Bezalel", but a year later, while he was arranging his affairs in France, the First World War broke out and, being a subject of the enemy, he was not allowed to return to Israel; In the end, he returned to it only in 1921, and there he created his important body of work, the pictures of the Bible.
The painting is in a frame with glass, not examined outside the frame.
