Mandy Sand (1932-2004), oil on canvas, floral woman, surreal-fantastic, 29.5 x 29.5s, signed and dated 1978. About the artist: One of Israel's most talented fantastical-surrealist artists. His works are rare and are characterized by original and complex compositions, many details and colors. Mendy usually paints using the oil techniques used in the 17th century. This sale for the first time includes a comprehensive collection of works by the artist including oil, sepia, pastel paintings, Drawings and engravings. Born in Bucharest, Romania in 1932, he began studying painting at the age of 27 at the Bucharest School of Art. In 1964 he immigrated to Israel and began to develop his unique style in 1970. Their work is influenced by medieval and Renaissance art. The Dutch artists of the 17th century served as great inspiration for his work.
