Shomre Ha-Ir [City Guards] - By Ruth Blau. Translated into Hebrew : Zvi Yakobson. Jerusalem : Idanim, 1979. 264 pp. Hardcover. Dust jacket - few very small tears and sticker on spine's bottom. 22 cm., few aging stains, stamps - one on bottom lining, former copy library. 


Back lining : Glued newspaper clipping - A short article about the book.


Memoris book by the widow of the leader of Neturei Karta - Amram Blau. She tells the story of her life as a gentile who fought the Nazis, the way she got cloe to Judaism and conversion, the story of the "Mea Shearim" neighborhood, various characters and Neturei Karta. It tells of a generation with all their problematics for modern man, the Jewish people and observant Judaism. Bllau took an active part in the abduction and hiding of the boy Yosla Shohamkar who was finally discovered by the Israeli Mossad. The affair of her marriage to Amram Blau caused a great stir in the ultra-orthodox world.
