Heddy nee Davidovich was born in Yugoslavia in 1936. During the Holocaust, her parents were murdered and she was sent to her grandfather's home in Debrecen, Hungary. The grandfather served as the city's chief rabbi. Despite this she received a pluralistic education and already in her youth participated in painting classes. Initially in private lessons and later as part of a painting studio. In the 1950s she began studying painting at an academy in Budapest, but following the "Hungarian uprising" (1956) and her Yugoslav citizenship she had to leave the country and immigrate to Israel. Kun and moved to Haifa.

The main work of Kun's is the medium of painting. Her early works are characterized by portraits and landscape depictions in a moderate post-Impressionist style. Her later works, from the 1990s, are characterized by intense color and a transition between realistic and decorative depiction.
