Letter from Rabbi Yonah Baron, Dayan of Jaslo and a scion of the Sanz and Radoshitz dynasties, 1938
Letter written towards the end of the Holocaust, pleading for an Aliya certificate for his eldest son Chaim, who was at risk of being conscripted to the army and urgently need to escape to Eretz Yisrael. In the letter Rabbi Yonah mentions his father-in-law, the holy rabbi of Ushpizin and his grandfathers, the Divrei Chaim and the Tzaddik of Kaminka.
Rabbi Yonah Baron served as a dayan and teacher in the town of Jaslo in Galicia. He was murdered by the Nazis, along with his father and his eldest son Chaim, the subject of this letter.
