David Lan-Bar Lanberg David Lan- Bar (Lanberg) (1912-1987) was born in Poland. He immigrated to Palestine in 1935. Lan-Bar used lithograph print to accomplish the vast majority of his works which tend to be abstract landscapes. His paintings tended to use bold colors, geometric shapes, and sharp lines. Lan-Bar studied with Miron Sima and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In the early 1940s, Lan-Bar moved to Tel Aviv and studied with Aharon Avni. He was one of the founders of "The Studio" in 1945, and studied painting with Avidgdor Stematsky and Yehezkel Streichman. He moved to Paris in 1948 and studied at the Ecole de Beaux Arts. He had an exhibition in 1948 at the Salon d'Autumne, Salon de Mai in Paris. and the Asheville Art Museum. He died in Paris in 1987
