CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL ONYX INKWELL MARKED TIFFANY AND CO
A vintage inkwell modeled as a miniature urn with a hinged lid mounted on an onyx tray in a brass frame, circa 1940s. Adorned with polychrome champleve enamel designs. Champleve is an ancient deeply carved enamel technique used in the decorative arts to decorate metal surfaces. In this technique, colored glass paste is filled into the cavities, slots and holes opened on the artifact and baked. Marked, Tiffany and Co.
