ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI COVERED CLOISONNE ENAMEL JAR
An antique Japanese Meiji Era covered enamel over brass jar. The cover of the jar is adorned with a polychrome image of a Phoenix bird surrounded by a swirl motif made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover is adorned with a tubby shaped handle, decorated with polychrome images of Phoenix birds surrounded by a swirl pattern made in the same technique. The ware features polychrome floral, foliage, swirl, and scrollwork ornaments made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
