Two antique American banknotes from the State of Georgia issued by the Merchants and Planters Bank with denominations of 2 and 3 dollars. The 2 dollars bill features the portrait of George Washington on the left and Martha Washington on the right. In the center there are workers harvesting bails of grain and collecting them in bundles. The 3 dollars bill shows an equally captivating design, with a central vignette depicting a steamer.The State of Georgia Merchants and Planters Bill, issued in the late 1850s, served as a form of local currency and was accepted by merchants and planters within the state.
