VIEW OF ISTANBUL OIL PAINTING AFTER THOMAS ALLOM
Oil on canvas painting, after an engraving titled Scutari and the Maiden Tower in the Bosphorus by Thomas Allom, 1804 to 1872, an English architect and topographical illustrator. The original artwork belongs to a series created in 1836 to 1838 for the book titled Constantinople and the Scenery of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor illustrated by Robert Walsh, published in London by Fisher, Son and Co. The painting dated back to the mid-19th century and depicts a landscape view of Istanbul with the Maidens Tower on the left and a mosque on the right. Golden frame.
