1930S RUSSIAN WATERCOLOR PAINTING BY IVAN BILIBIN
Watercolor on paper painting by Ivan Bilibin, 1876 to 1942, was a Russian artist and stage designer, member of the Mir Iskusstva art group, and contributor to the Ballets Russes. The artwork depicts a young woman and a snowman in a winter forest. An illustration for Morozko, or Jack Frost, a Russian folk tale. Executed for the book titled Tales of the Russian Grandmother published in 1932. Signed by the artist and dated 1930 in the lower left. White mat.
