MEDALS & MEMORABILIA KURANDA & STELLINGER FAMILY
Includes a cased mid century Decoration Of Honour, by Anton Reitterer, Austria, II Republic; an antique cased Belgium Great War 1914/1918 Queen Elisabeth medal for tending the Wounded; a Chillicothe Ohio, Mound City Group National Monument medal; and a Vietnam War era metal dog tag in the name of Thom Stellinger. The present lot is on auction from part of Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of these items can be traced back to Felix Kuranda in the XIX Century Austrian Empire, a member of a well known family of bankers and politicians; directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne And Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage. He was a veteran of the Korean War as well as a reputed amateur photographer and artist. The Stellinger-Scott family resided for decades at Montauk, Long Island, NY.
