An antique early 20th-century oil on canvas painting. The artwork depicts a panoramic view of the bay of Naples, Italy. Vesuvius, the volcano that once buried Pompeii, is shown fuming in the background. Mount Vesuvius was active from 1913 through 1944, thus the painting must have been executed during this period.
