Yad Vashem 2 Zikaron Candles 6 Million Murdered Bezalel Artists Zaharah Schatz Daughter of Bezalel Founder Boris Schatz and Moshe Tzabari Bezalel Alumni
In 1960 artist Zaharah Schatz, daughter to Bezalel founder and an artist in her own right, designed the Yad Vashem six Vessel menorah, which became a symbol for the Jewish people. The statue is designed as "a pole growing in an elegant spiral, perhaps a flower perhaps smoke, and carries on its head a "crown" with six cone.
"The menorah is intended to symbolize the growth and continued existence of the Jewish People. The crown as a light source is meant to express hope and the continuation of Jewish spirituality". Winner of the Prize of Israel.
Moshe tzabari, Israeli Judaica artist, born in Jerusalem in 1935.
Studied at Bezalel, Jerusalem, between 1955-1958, and was awarded with the Yad Vashem Award for designing the candle.
