Description:

Tobacco box made of burl wood carved with the image of Napoleon, early 19th century Europe

The lid of the box is carved with the image of the emperor and around it the symbols of the French Republic. The back of the item is decorated with geometric engraving. The inside of the box is varnished.

Diameter: 8 cm
* A crack mark and some minor chips on the rim.

A burl tree is a tree that grows in a distorted way which gives it a richly textured look

- the box is probably from the period of Napoleon
