WALTHER FUNK
(1890 - 1960) Nazi Minister of Economics who confiscated goods of imprisoned Jews to the Reichsbank via Himmler. Sentenced to life imprisonment. Important, fine content D.S. signed in block letters at start and in cursive at conclusion, 4pp. legal folio, [n.p.], June 10, 1945. In what must have been one of the first documents completed by Funk in captivity, the war criminal completes a 'Personnel Questionnaire' for his captors, in pencil. He sets forth birth date and place, position ('Reichsminister u. President du Deutschen Reichsbank'), occupation ('Journalist'), party and military affiliations, titles and awards, employment, sources of income (11,000 RM/mo.), travels, etc. Such documents were used to further search for criminal activity on the part of the prisoner. Old tape stain on first page, some tiny edge tears, else very good.
