בית המכירות "נקדימון" מתכבד להציג את מכירתו השנייה, הכוללת ספרים נדירים, דפוסים ראשונים, כתבי־יד ומכתבי רבנים בעלי חשיבות תורנית, היסטורית וביבליוגרפית.

המכירה מורכבת בעיקרה משני אוספים חשובים, ולצידם עשרות ספרים נדירים ופריטים מיוחדים נוספים. בין פריטי המכירה ניתן למצוא ספרי חסידות רבים בדפוס ראשון, מהדורות יסוד בספרות התורנית, ספרים נדירים מן המאות הי"ח–הכ', כתבי־יד ומכתבים בחתימות גדולי ישראל.

האוסף הראשון הוא חלק ב' מספרייתו של החוקר התורני הנודע הרב דוד קמינצקי זצ"ל, אשר חלקה הראשון הוצג במכירתנו הקודמת. במשך עשרות שנים בנה הרב קמינצקי ספרייה מפוארת שכללה אלפי ספרים נדירים, מקורות יסוד לתורת הגר"א ותלמידיו, דפוסים קדומים ופריטים בעלי חשיבות מחקרית ותורנית. רבים מן הספרים המוצעים במכירה זו שימשו את הרב קמינצקי בלימודיו ובמחקריו.

האוסף השני מגיע ממשפחת הגה"ק רבי שמואל הלוי קֶעלין, בעל ה"מחצית השקל" זצ"ל, מגדולי פוסקי אשכנז ומחברו של אחד החיבורים היסודיים והנלמדים ביותר על שולחן ערוך אורח חיים. בין הפריטים מצויים ספרים שהיו שייכים לבעל ה"מחצית השקל" עצמו, לצד ספרים שהיו בבעלות בנו הגאון המופלא רבי יעקב קעלין סגל ונכדו הגאון רבי מנדל קעלין סגל.

לצד שני האוספים המרכזיים מוצעים במכירה ספרי חסידות חשובים בדפוס ראשון, ספרי יסוד נדירים, עותקים מיוחדים בעלי ייחוס, כתבי־יד, מכתבי רבנים ופריטים בעלי חשיבות ביבליוגרפית והיסטורית. רבים מן הספרים המוצעים אינם מצויים בשוק באופן תדיר, וחלקם לא הופיעו במכירות פומביות במשך שנים רבות.

במכירה זו אנו שבים ומעלים על נס את זכרו של הרב דוד קמינצקי זצ"ל (תש"ח–תשפ"ה), אשר הקדיש את חייו ללימוד התורה, לחקר תולדות הספר העברי ולההדרת תורת הגר"א ותלמידיו. ספרייתו, שנבנתה במשך עשרות שנות עמל, לימוד ואיסוף, שימשה מקור ידע חשוב לתלמידי חכמים, חוקרים ומחברי ספרים רבים, וחלק נוסף מאוצרותיה מובא עתה בפני ציבור שוחרי הספר.

Nakdimon Auction House is honored to present its second sale, featuring rare books, first editions, manuscripts, and rabbinic letters of significant Torah, historical, and bibliographical importance.

The sale is primarily composed of two important collections, alongside dozens of additional rare books and special items. Among the sale items are numerous Chassidic first editions, foundational works of Torah literature, rare books from the 18th–20th centuries, manuscripts, and letters bearing the signatures of leading Gedolei Yisrael.

The first collection is Part II of the library of the renowned Torah scholar Rabbi Dovid Kaminetzky zt"l, the first part of which was presented in our previous sale. Over several decades, Rabbi Dovid Kaminetzky built a magnificent library comprising thousands of rare books, foundational sources for the teachings of the Vilna Gaon (the Gra) and his disciples, early printings, and items of significant research and Torah value. Many of the books offered in this sale were used by Rabbi Dovid Kaminetzky in his studies and research.

The second collection comes from the family of the holy and illustrious Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Kelin, known as the "Machatzit HaShekel" zt"l, one of the preeminent halachic authorities of Ashkenaz and author of one of the most fundamental and widely studied commentaries on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim. Among the items are books that belonged to the author of the Machatzit HaShekel himself, alongside books owned by his son, the extraordinary Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Kelin Segal, and his grandson, the Gaon Rabbi Mendel Kelin Segal.

Alongside the two principal collections, the sale offers important Chassidic first editions, rare foundational works, special copies with notable provenance, manuscripts, rabbinic letters, and items of bibliographical and historical significance. Many of the books offered are seldom found on the market, and some have not appeared at public auction for many years.

In this sale, we once again pay tribute to the memory of Rabbi Dovid Kaminetzky zt"l (1948–2025), who dedicated his life to Torah study, research into the history of the Hebrew book, and the scholarly publication (ha’adarah) of the teachings of the Gra and his disciples. His library, built through decades of labor, study, and collecting, served as an essential source of knowledge for Torah scholars, researchers, and authors. An additional portion of its treasures is now presented to the community of collectors and lovers of Hebrew books.
